What we do

There are opportunities to get involved with CU each week, for us to meet together and encourage one another and to pray. Here are some of the highlights:

College Group
Every Wednesday, 8pm. Glover Room, Lerner/New Court.
We meet up for an hour as a group each week to read and learn from the Bible together, share encouragements and prayer requests and learn more about how to reach out to our friends in College with the Gospel. Highlight of the week, and the core of our work. Time together in the bar afterwards!

Friday Morning Prayer
Every Friday, 8am. College Chapel, Old court.
The catchily-nicknamed FMP may intimidate some by being so early in the day. However, prayer is at the heart of what Clare CU does, and it is a priority, pleasure and privilege as Christians to bring our concerns and encouragements before the Lord. Also, delicious buttery breakfast follows. Unmissable.

Prayer triplets/squares
Meeting up regularly in threes or fours, college group members find prayer triplets or squares a great support, and a fantastic opportunity to fellowship more closely. Contact one of our reps if you’d like to be a part of one!

Friday Lunchtime Talks
Every Friday, 1.15pm. St Andrew the Great church.
Friday Lunchtime Talks (or ‘FLT’s for the trendy) are university-wide events where a speaker is invited each week to discuss contentious, interesting and relevant issues to do with how Christianity relates to the world. Ideal for bringing friends, with a time for questions afterwards and (did we mention?) free lunch.

CICCU Central
Every Saturday, 5pm, Eden Baptist church.
Each week, there’s an opportunity to meet with Christians from other colleges, hear the Bible taught by a visiting speaker and pray together, and all early enough for you to join friends back at college as Saturday night begins.
